Nina was an extremely competent and confident CFO of a European software company. When the CEO position became vacant, she decided to have a number of individual sessions with me to analyse the pros and cons of going for the CEO role.
Together we mapped her professional, business and interpersonal competencies. She was only short of deeper knowledge of strategic planning and a few of the technical business challenges.
Based upon the competency map an intensive and short, yet effective business knowledge acquisition action plan was devised.
Simultaneously, she officially offered her candidacy to the CEO Recruitment Committee. Prior to her interview we rehearsed many of the angles questions could cover.
Nina is happy in her new role as CEO and has taken the next step by accepting her first board position.
Nina says:
“I wasn’t sure whether a) I had it in me to be a CEO and b) whether I really wanted to take on the CEO challenge.
Lani evaluated my competencies in a very analytical and objective way. I liked her approach and it illustrated clearly – mostly for myself – that I was actually well equipped to be a CEO. Once convinced and with her support, I just went for it. It was a tough and fair process, but I was selected, offered and have accepted to become CEO. I am so glad I did!! Thank you, Lani!!.”
